The hardest goodbye.

High School athletics are some of the most exciting times of many athletes lives. A majority of the time, the student-athletes will play sports in high school, and then never again- simply because they aren't good enough to play at colleges. So for many student-athletes, these are the only time they will ever step on the field or court. Once a high school student becomes a senior, they are faced with the brutal reality they will will no longer be able to play the game they love so much.

It's hard. So very hard. Especially if you never completely finish a season. If your team is having good success during the regular season, and you go to the playoffs... you expect to win them. And it's a terrible feeling when you lose and can't be on it anymore. You ask yourself... what else could I have done? Did I give it my all?

Once you step off, and know your never stepping back on.. it's hard to decide what you want to do with yourself. Going home and realizing you have nothing to do is.. difficult. Its a feeling that i've found I absolutely detest.

However, the feeling of knowing that you were part of something bigger than yourself is a great, great feeling. You know deep down that you will always have memories from your final season. I love the fact that this year during my final football season, I will always remember those memories. It's simply amazing. And something that I never wanted to say goodbye too.. It truly is the hardest goodbye.

Hi!

My name is Jordan Hansen and welcome to this blog that I decided to create on a whim..

I'm pretty sure that this blog will mostly focus on sports and sporting events, as those are more or less my major passions. In fact, sports have made up a majority of my life, and I figure myself to be blessed for the chances that I have had and will have to play sports of some type.

I'd have to say football is my favorite sport, but there's quite a few sports that I enjoy watching or taking part in. For me, I find sports a way to bring people together, and that might be singularly the most important thing about them.

This blog will simply be my thoughts on sports stories that are floating across the news, among other things in the sports world. I'm excited to try my hand at a sports blog, and hopefully I get some responses and such out of this blog!

Thanks for reading!
